International Convention

Every year there is a week long International Meeting usually in the USA or Canada. In 2006 it is in Vancouver and several England V members have said they are going.
Contact the secretary for details, or just take a look at www.blueknights.org
for more details of the club around the world. There are links there to the chapters involved and hotels where you can get accommodation. let's say at the outset that you don't have to take 'eventing' that seriously, but they are a fantastic experience.

Board of Governors

This is the International 'Presidents' Meeting' which meets at the Convention and decides on the location of the next. They also manage the Special Fund which England V contributes to. This fund can grant up to $1000 dollars immediately when members have accidents on the way to BK events. The changes made by the International Board during the year can also be overturned if enough of the Presidents disagree. This year a move to make the annual inaugural ball move from Maine was defeated because members want the traditions of the club retained.

Rallies

a rally is usually three or four days, with accommodations ranging from youth hostels to 4 star hotels. Rallying takes up some of your precious time, but is a fantastic experience and a great place to meet other Blue Knights.
Some great long term friendships have developed, which is why you will see Tom Elliott tripping to Belgium or Harry flying to Berlin for events that you haven't time to get to by bike.
Your President reckons rallies are three day parties! You will certainly see more of some spectacular places when your guide is a smiling Blue Knight rather than a Berlitz guide book!

350s

We started in someone's garden....  an overnight stay in tents with a pub on Saturday night and a damn good breakfast before we rode home on Sunday morning.
We have since had other 'tiddlers' all over the place, and we plan to run one soon at the Cat and Fiddle, the most dangerous road in the country........ Fancy joining us?
The Half Moon in Lincolnshire are actually asking us to come again, and all it costs is the price of the breakfast, and a little beer money!

Conference

Difficult to describe the Conference, some think its a Post Office to help International stay in touch with the chapters and some fondly imagine its the mechanism to run the club throughout the UK.
Depends on your point of view, but it does serve as an appeal process if we cant sort out problems out inside the chapter and we have to kick someone out.
