The founder members of England IX, Chris Pulfrey, Dave Hall
and Danny Kaye joined the first England chapter, England I in 1993. As the
membership of this chapter increased the group split into more manageable
regions and England VI was formed to cover South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and
Notts. At this time they were part of the North Atlantic Conference and it was
dominated by the Canadian membership. It was decided to form the UK conference
and in order to help this along to get sufficient chapters, England VI divided
and the South Yorkshire branch became England IX in 1997.
England IX has an ever growing membership with members throughout the South
Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire areas. They meet on the
3rd Tuesday of every month at differing locations to accommodate all members.
The first Wednesday of every month from May to November sees a regular a rideout
with good numbers attending. It usually falls to a different member to organise
a route and destination for each rideout which results in some very interesting
and varied days out.
